HWSim – HealthyWager Calculation Page

Download HWSim on your smartphone here!

Video demo here!

Here’s where you enter the information for a single HealthyWager, and a gain and prize is predicted. You also get feedback on the quality of the bet, and how it can be improved—in both payout and in ease of pledge.

Biometric Inputs

Enter your sex, height, and starting weight here. You can click on the cells and scroll up or down, or click on the arrow buttons to increment or decrement.

You can change these anytime you want to. (Unlike the official calculator, in which your data is unchangeable unless you either (a) call Customer Service or (b) start a brand new account with a different email address. Both choices are a pain in the ass.)

Pledge definition

Enter the number of pounds you want to lose, the number of months you want to lose it in, and the number or dollars per month you want to wager. Also enter your referral link value, if you have one (your should—if not, click here!)

Payout and statistical data

Here’s the prize information—immediately available, without entering your email and getting subjected to spam!

  • Gain is the amount of profit you will make from Healthy Wage when you win.
  • Prize is the amount Healthy Wage will pay you—this includes the investment being returned to you.
  • ROI (Return on investment) is the gain divided by the investment.
  • Total investment is the amount per month multiplied by the number of months.

Also, HWSim tells you the following data that Healthy Wage does not:

  • Your final weight
  • Your BMI (starting and ending)
  • The percent weight you are losing
  • The percent weight per week you need to lose to keep pace (this is week-to-week, calculated with exponential math)

Bet quality information

This tells you the following information that Healthy Wage will also tell you:

  • If the total bet amount is less than $101 (illegal bet)
  • If the amount of weight pledged is less than 10% (illegal bet)

It will also tell you the following information about legal bets which Healthy Wage will not tell you:

  • If the return on investment is governed by what I call the “regular” formula or the “triple-bonus” formula
    • The “regular” formula offers an ROI between 11% and 194.12% (excluding referral bonuses).
    • The “triple-bonus” formula offers a gain consisting of 194.12% of your bet, plus a bonus depending linearly on how many pounds you are trying to lose.
    • If possible, you want a triple-bonus formula payout, because it is a much more generous return than a regular formula return.
  • The minimum number of pounds required to trigger the triple-bonus formula payouts. Also, how much money to wager to get the maximum gain when pledging to lose that many pounds
  • If your bet amount is an “overbet” or not, and how much money per month you should bet to get the maximum gain for the number of pounds you are trying to lose
    • Healthy Wage will cap your gain opportunity at a certain amount, depending on a number of factors. These are not told to you, but I figured it out and I am communicating that information to you in HWSim.
    • You want to make sure you do not bet so much money that Healthy Wage will not give you the full return on it. If you bet too much, they will only kick the excess back to you if you win. That’s a sucker bet.
    • If you want to wager more money than the calculator will permit while getting the full return on it, you need to invest in jackpot challenges in parallel with the HealthyWager. That way, you can get a profit on that extra money.

Recently, I added some health-related red flags to some of these wagers. While Healthy Wage will technically allow you to launch wagers for losing weight very rapidly, they may look at you sideways if you try to lose 1.5% on a week-to-week basis. So if you set up a bet calculation that breaches that 1.5% limit, HWSim will earn you of this.

The other health-related flag is when ending BMI is under 18. Generally, 18-25 is a healthy range for BMI. Under 18, and it’s problematic. I flag this also in HWSim.

The Prize Breakdown Pie Chart shows a pie chart with the components of your prize.

Return vs Pounds Pledged allows you to calculate a bunch of wagers at once, You change the number of pounds you are pledging, while holding bet size constant, and you can get the payout values for each one.

The calculator will reveal the transition point between the two sub-formulas, so if possible you can adjust your bet so that you can work on the better sub-formula and get a much better payout. You can also learn how the bet amount impacts the return on investment that is being offered at each pledge level—and whether a profit cap is being breached or not. Profit caps are affected by pledge levels.

Return vs Wagered Dollars allows you to sweep the bet amount while holding the pledged pounds constant. You’ll see easily where the net gain caps are coming into play, and where the maximum profit point is—i.e. exactly how much you have to bet to get maximum profit.

  1. Hi, can you please help me figure out how to get the maximum out. i am 5’3” 160cm 176 pounds female. I plan to lose anywhere around 62 pounds and months 6 or more. I just want the max out possible. I used your app too, but very confused. Please help me figure this out. The max gain I could see from your app for $1400

    1. Try $816 over the period (divide that by the number of months you need) and you’ll get $1,480 profit plus any prize boost

I’d take more time than 6 months to lose 62 pounds though. That’s 1.66% a week—that will make you a great $10k team member but it’s really aggressive.

If you took 12 months, that’s 0.83% a week which is not too bad if you can keep it up. $68/month and $1,480 profit

Also try $82/mo, 9 months, 48 lb. The 48 lb is right at the level where the formula switches to the better one. Play around with the calculator at 47-48 lb and about $738 total money, choose your duration—and you can see how the prize values jump drastically 😃
